Marilyn is Room for All’s Executive Director. She is a “born and baptized” RCA member, and her first involvement at the denominational level was as a Western Seminary student representative on the RCA Christian Action Commission when the Commission prepared its 1978 report on Human Sexuality, Pornography, and Homosexuality. Previous professional directions have included freelance writing, teaching English, directing Christian Education ministries in two RCA congregations, and office management. In hindsight, she sees clearly that each of these jobs ushered her toward her current role with Room for All. Marilyn has several off-hours interests, including reading and writing poetry. She lives with her husband, John Paarlberg. They are the parents of three adult children, and one grandchild.
